This collection is inspired by Greek Mythology - in particular, Hermes and his winged hat and sandals which he used when delivering dreams from the mortals to the Gods. The beginning element of this collection was the 'Wing of Desire' earring, designed to follow and flatter the shape of the ear.
From this piece, my research into anything mythological and birdlike grew to creations such as tiny bird bone rings that clutch fingers, studded with diamonds. Diamond-encrusted birds hold rocks of amethyst and fine casts of bird bones are transformed into necklaces with gold claws. Amethyst is the only coloured stone used in this collection as according to Greek mythology, amethyst was created when wine was poured over rock crystal. So legend goes, further to its incredible deep purple hue, amethyst is said to ward off drunkenness - hence the name of 'The Guardian' for the large amethyst and diamond dress ring.
