I hate the three-months-salary rule – only you know how much you can spend and how much you want to spend. Of course, we can source a million-pound, D-flawless, 10 carat diamond for a bespoke ring, but we also have adorable Button Back diamond solitaire rings from £2,200. Me and my team are here to talk through the options with you, whatever your budget is.
My designs are all infused with an antique sensibility, even if it’s not immediately obvious, so they really don’t date. However, I do feel that timelessness comes from classic settings, like simple solitaires, or a central stone with ‘shoulders’ either side. But not all brides want timeless. Some want something totally original and unusual.
I always say respect the four Cs when it comes to diamonds; carat (weight), clarity (how clear it is), cut (the shape) and colour (how white it is) – but pay the most attention to what we call the fifth C, character (quite simply, regardless of technicalities, how the diamond makes you feel).
