Coral Care

Sardinian Precious Coral is one of the most beautiful treasures from the Mediterranean Sea. Prized for its all-natural crimson colour, its unusually large sizes, and its remarkable consistency of hue.

Here are our best tips on how to best care for your coral...

♦ Precious coral’s are delicate so need care to prevent scratches, we recommend cleaning with a soft, lint-free cloth when needed.

♦ When it comes to storage, coral’s worst enemy is other jewellery! Keep your items separate by wrapping them in tissue or cloth when travelling or stored in separate compartments of a jewellery box. This includes separating each earring in a pair.

♦ Corals fade when exposed to strong light. Do not wear or leave them for extended periods under natural sunlight, artificial light or strong display lights.

♦ Coral’s dissolve upon contact with acids and solvents such as nail varnish remover and some washing up liquids. As they are porous don’t allow them to come into contact with coloured fluids.

♦ Along with pearls never put coral in an ultrasonic cleaner.

♦ Save the best for last. Put jewellery on after applying makeup, perfume, and hair products and make sure they are the first thing you take off at the end of the night.

♦ Make it click! If you have bought a pair of our Coral Gypset Hoops, please make sure you listen for the click to ensure they are properly closed.

♦ As part of our after care service, we recommend a yearly check up on your jewels. Just drop us a line when you’d like them serviced and we’ll coordinate the rest.
